How We Can Help
My name is Edward Hurst. As a highly skilled Registered Mental Health Nurse with over a decade of experience, I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward emotional well-being. My background spans various roles, including community and inpatient mental health care, where I have honed my ability to build trusting relationships, provide tailored interventions, and foster meaningful change.
Through my work, I have developed expertise in crisis intervention, care coordination, and addressing complex mental health challenges. I am skilled in conducting comprehensive assessments, managing risks effectively, and empowering clients with evidence-based strategies like CBT to navigate life's difficulties.
I have undertaken extensive post qualification training programmes in managing symptoms of trauma, anxiety, depression and low self esteem to cite a few. My approach is compassionate, solution-focused, and rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity to overcome obstacles and achieve personal growth.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, or life transitions, I am here to provide support and guidance tailored to your unique needs. Together, we can work towards clarity, resilience, and a more fulfilling life.

Pillars of Our Approach
Supportive Service
We recognise the value of having consistent support and regular contact with a professional. Unfortunately, many NHS services now prioritise "time-limited interventions," which may not suit everyone’s needs.
At Horsham Counselling, we are committed to working with you for as long as you need, providing personalised and ongoing support tailored to your unique circumstances.
Compassionate Counselling
Compassionate counselling focuses on creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients feel understood and supported. It emphasises kindness, active listening, and validation of emotions, allowing individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings openly.
CBT Based Coping Skills
With over 10 years of experience working directly with clients using CBT based techniques.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on understanding and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors.
Structure
We provide structured 50-minute sessions tailored to your needs. Clients can schedule sessions as frequently as required to ensure consistent and effective support. To accommodate urgent situations, we reserve a number of priority slots each week.
No diagnosis needed
You don't need a diagnosis from a healthcare professional to use our service. We focus on helping you address the symptoms you are struggling with and life stressors.
We have worked with people who have a number of diagnosed and undiagnosed conditions. Even if you are only experiecning symptoms of the below conditions we can help:
Anxiety
Depression
Autism & ADHD
Mood Disorders
Personality Disorders
Chronic Fatigue

"I am so much better at talking myself through things and calming my anxiety without reacting like I used to. Edward at Horsham Counselling has helped me so much."
